The Azerbaijani artistic gymnastics team is preparing for the World Cup, which will take place on April 17-20 in Doha.
According to İdman.biz, Nikita Simonov, Ivan Tikhonov, Mansum Safarov, Murad Agarzaev, Rasul Akhmedzade and Nazanin Teymurova will go to Qatar.
Taking into account that the competition will be held on separate apparatuses, the types in which our athletes are entered have been determined.
Tikhonov will perform on his signature apparatus – rings. Akhmedzade will perform exercises on pommel horse and parallel bars, Safarov will perform floor exercises and high bar, Tikhonov will perform vault, parallel bars and pommel horse, and Agarzaev will perform floor exercises and vault.
While Teymurova will have floor exercises, beam and vault.
The final, fourth stage of the World Cup series will take place in Doha and after it the holders of Olympic licenses for apparatus will be determined. The top two athletes in each event based on the overall World Cup standings will earn vacancies in Paris.
It should be noted that one of the applicants for a rings license is the athlete of the Azerbaijani national team Nikita Simonov.
