Electricity is restored to damaged lines in Derna

The General Electricity Company announced, “The restoration of electrical power to the damaged lines in Derna.”

The company indicated that “the harsh climate conditions and strong winds that the city of Derna witnessed led to malfunctions in the overhead line network in a number of areas, and the maintenance team immediately rushed to the Derna Distribution Department yesterday, Wednesday, to repair the malfunctions. Most of the lines were restored to the network, and work is still underway to maintain the rest.” Broken lines, connecting them and operating them.”

The company noted on its Facebook page that “repairs are continuing in most networks in Libyan cities, and power has been restored to areas affected by bad weather conditions as a result of weather fluctuations over the past days.”

The company said: “The maintenance teams in the Al-Asabaa Distribution Department conducted emergency maintenance on the Al-Asabaa line from Al-Qudama station (voltage 11/66 kV) in order to repair faults and secure electrical supply.”

She added: “The maintenance teams of the Derna Distribution Department are continuing their efforts to restore the damaged overhead lines to their normal condition in order to secure electrical power for the Karsah and Dhahr Al-Hamar areas as part of efforts to repair faults resulting from bad weather conditions.”
