With the open event “Genetic diseases and heredity, citizens ask and experts answer”, the actions of the Municipality of Ioannita in the context of the celebration of World Health Day were completed.
The event took place on Tuesday afternoon in the municipal council hall in collaboration with the laboratory of genetics in clinical practice of the University of Ioannina.
Deputy Mayor Sofia Markoula welcomed those present, emphasizing that the Municipality of Ioannina as a “Healthy City” and as a member of the European Network of Healthy Cities of the World Health Organization took initiatives and organized two events, defending in practice the right of everyone to access quality health services, in health information and freedom from discrimination.
The main presentations of the event were made by the Professor of Medical Genetics and Human Reproduction of the Department of Medicine of the University of Ioannina Ioannis Georgiou, the EDIP of Medical Genetics of the Department of Medicine of the University of Ioannina Ioanna Bouba and the scientific associate of the Laboratory of Medical Genetics in Clinical Practice of the Department of Medicine of the University of Ioannina, Charilaos Kostoulas .
