In the midst of mourning and pain, the relatives of Luca Ceballos and Juan Cruz Martínez decided to donate the organs of both 17-year-olds, who died last Wednesday after dying for six days after being involved in an accident in a car in the Posadas waterfront.
In this regard, Claudia Acosta, an organ donation activist and mother of Stefania Vier, the young woman from Monte Carlo who had received a heart transplant and died in 2017, described the decision to donate as an “act of love.”
“I want to give my respect and support in this very strong pain of those parents, friends and family. The limit between making the decision to donate and the pain so great that it tears you apart is very finite, but even within that pain, thinking about someone else is without a doubt the greatest act of love,” Acosta said.
In turn, he highlighted that the donation of organs from both teenagers will allow another 14 people to receive a second chance at life. “The children were minors and that is why the Justina Law did not apply to them, here parental approval was still needed, and there will be 14 people who will continue living thanks to those parents who were able to,” he emphasized.
“It is important to continue planting the seed of awareness, we must think about all the possible recipients, there are 14 operating rooms currently working in different parts of the country so that other people can once again receive a breath of life. There are 14 people who are going to see the sun again, to dance at a family event, to breathe light blue for those who need lungs, and for those who need a heart, they are going to pump and feel their feet getting warm,” Acosta concluded. .
Claudia Acosta’s daughter, Stefi Vier, received a heart transplant in May 2015. After that, the young woman from Monte Carlo dedicated herself to transmitting the importance of organ donation, until her death on October 6, 2017.
