Oncology patients face their fate amid interruption of treatment

The head of the Medical Affairs Unit at the Health Office at the Libyan Embassy in Türkiye, Maan Al-Mabrouk, attributed: The reason for stopping treatment for oncology patients in Turkey is the delay in disbursing the financial deposit to the patients.

Al-Mabrouk said in an intervention with Libya Al-Ahrar that stopping treatment for Libyan patients was limited to the Turkish Medipol Hospital, which is the only hospital that treats patients with blood and liver cancer.

Al-Mabrouk indicated that the health office does not know the reason for the delay in disbursing the financial deposit despite its referral from the Ministry of Finance to the Central Bank of Libya, as he put it.

Al-Mabrouk also confirmed that patients suffering from tumors other than blood and liver are still receiving treatment in other hospitals in Turkey under the supervision of the office.

For his part, the head of the Medical Supply Service and member of the Supreme Technical Security Committee to follow up on the health file, “Yazid Al-Saqati,” revealed an upcoming visit to Turkey to find out the needs of patients there, especially oncology patients.

Al-Saqati confirmed in an intervention with Libya Al-Ahrar that the process of supplying oncology medications is going well and their distribution is taking place through a special system, calling on all patients to register in it to ensure access to treatment.

Al-Saqati explained that patients in need of marrow transplants were identified in Egypt, and financial authorizations were transferred before Eid al-Fitr, according to him. Pointing out the availability of treatment for patients returning from Tunisia and Egypt.
