‘Investigation Chief 1958’ Lee Je-hoon shared his thoughts on playing the younger version of Choi Bul-am.
On the afternoon of the 18th, a production presentation for MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Investigation Chief 1958’ (written by Kim Young-shin/directed by Kim Seong-hoon) was held at the Golden Mouse Hall in the MBC Sangam building in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Actors Lee Je-hoon, Lee Dong-hwi, Choi Woo-sung, Yoon Hyun-soo and director Kim Seong-hoon attended the event.

Lee Je-hoon also said, “Teacher Choi Bul-am said, ‘When I think about it, I hope the detective named Park Young-han is full of anger inside,’” and “He talked a lot about the humanism of scolding evil people and protecting the weak.”
At the same time, he said, “I thought it would be very difficult for me to look like or imitate Choi Bul-am on the outside, so I acted hard with the intention of inheriting my mind and heart and expressing Park Young-han well.” He added, “(Park Young-han) led 880 dramas for 18 years. “He is a person that everyone knows, but I hope that those who see him again will see a nostalgic appearance, and that those who have not seen the original ‘Investigation Chief 1958’ will watch ‘Investigation Chief 1958’ and wonder what the old ‘Investigation Chief’ was like.” He said.
Lee Je-hoon plays the role of Park Young-han, a hillbilly detective with the highest arrest rate for petty thieves in Gyeonggi-do.
Meanwhile, ‘Investigation Chief 1958’ is a prequel to ‘Investigation Chief’, which wrote the history of Korean investigative dramas. Set in 1958, detective Park Young-han (Lee Je-hoon), who specializes in apprehending petty thieves in a barbaric era, teams up with three unique colleagues. It tells the story of people coming together to break the absurdities of corrupt power with common sense and being reborn as detectives for the people.
