Ankara/New Delhi: India has taught a tough lesson to Turkey, which is matching the tune of Pakistan and Maldives’ Muizzu government. India has shown the way out to Turkish companies with the deal of naval warships worth Rs 22 thousand crores. In order to promote domestic shipbuilding companies, the Defense Ministry has canceled all the contracts from Turkish companies and given them to Hindustan Shipyard Limited. Under this deal, 5 fleet support ships are to be built. The steel cutting ceremony of the first ship was also completed in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. India has taken this step at a time when Turkey has taken many hostile steps against India in recent times. Turkey, which has till now supplied drones and missiles to Pakistan, has now given TB-2 killer drone to Maldives where the Muizzu government These days she is spewing venom against India. Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has raised the Kashmir issue several times on the United Nations platform. Not only this, Turkey often keeps giving statements against India at the behest of Pakistan. This contract to build 5 support ships was given to Hindustan Shipyard in August 2023 and its delivery to the Indian Navy will start from the year 2027.

Indian Navy’s strength will increase

The induction of these warships will increase the Indian Navy’s ability to become a blue water navy. The displacement capacity of these huge ships will be 40 thousand tons. These ships will be able to provide fuel, water, ammunition etc. to the Navy. With this, the warships of the Indian Navy will be able to challenge the enemy at sea for a long time and they will not have to come to the harbor again and again. Apart from this, humanitarian aid and disaster relief can be provided with the help of these ships. These ships will now be designed and built completely on the basis of indigenous technology.

Why did Maldives fall in love with India and start praising Jaishankar?

Earlier, these ships were to be designed and built with the help of Turkish companies but India avoided foreign companies. By giving this project to an Indian company, thousands of Indians will also get employment. Türkiye’s Anadolu Shipyard was the first to design for the Indian project. This project was significantly delayed due to the geopolitical dispute over Kashmir between Türkiye and India. Türkiye is continuously supplying deadly weapons and warships to Pakistan Navy. In such a situation, India’s sidelining is being considered a big blow for the poor Turkish government.
