The CFE contemplates that in May it will begin the search for the bodies of the 63 miners trapped in Pasta de ConchosCoahuila.
This was announced by engineer César Fuentes, who said that the first descent will begin in one of the 2 ports being built. to access the site’s old galleries:
“Here in the case of Lumbrera 1 We will start the search on May 12 (…) in port 2 (…) we are going to arrive, the start of the search on July 18.”

According to the plates presented by the official of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE)the projected income will be to search for 2 groups of bodies, 13 and 20, out of a total of 63 trapped.
While the search for a third group of 18 miners will start on August 15this, because for this they excavate and build an access ramp.
The Government proceeds in this way because – based on work logs of the time – the 63 miners were dispersed along galleries spanning 25.4 kilometers.
According to the images presented by the CFE, there are 4 major groups of 7, 13, 18 and 20 workers.
They are followed by one of 2, and 3 more, who died alone; one of them – according to the plan – would have lost his life near the group of 18, who died in one of the registered explosions.
Regarding this procedure, the director of Engineering and Commission Infrastructure Projectionsaid:
“We made the decision not to really follow the trajectories that were already built, because the distances we have to reach the most significant groups of miners, as they are represented, they would be very long”.

In April of the following year – with Felipe Calderón in the Presidency – 2 of the 65 bodies were rescued, and at that time the work was suspended, because, in the words of Luisa María Alcalde, head of the Interior:
“Rescue actions were suspended and The remaining 63 miners were left trapped there.this because at the time it was said that there were no conditions to be able to continue with these actions.”
