This was reported on Thursday by the Security Service of Ukraine (UST), citing Ukrinform.
“According to the investigation, the suspect intended to collect and transfer to the aggressor country information about the security of the Rzeszow-Jasionka airport. This, among other things, should have helped the Russian special services to plan a possible assassination attempt on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi during his visit to the territory of Poland,” the report reads.
UST employees and Ukrainian prosecutors informed their Polish colleagues about the possible attack and handed over the most important evidence of the case to them. This took place on the basis of international legal assistance.
Successful actions and prompt exchange of information between the parties made it possible to identify and arrest a recruited agent of the Russian special services on the territory of Poland.
The Polish Prosecutor’s Office charged him with preparing to act for the benefit of a foreign special service. April 18 At the request of the Polish Prosecutor’s Office, the Warsaw District Court ordered the detainee to be remanded in custody.
UST is grateful to its partners for effective cooperation in the fight against Russian crimes in Ukraine and abroad.
As Ukrinform previously reported, during an interview with the Italian TV channel RAI1, V. Zelensky said that, according to intelligence, he had been attacked more than 10 times.
