Labor and Social Security Commission extends free availability of the CTS until December 2024

The Labor and Social Security Commission, chaired by parliamentarian Pasión Dávila Atanacio (BM), approved the opinion issued in the bills 7010/2023-CR, 7130/2023-CR, 7152/2023-CR, 7358/2023- CR, 7400/2023-CR, and 7468/2023-CR, which propose the extension of the term for the free disposal of Compensation for Time of Service (CTS), in order to face the recession and economic crisis that affect the country.

The proposal authorizes, for the only time, and until December 31, 2024, workers included within the scope of the Single Ordered Text of Legislative Decree 650, CTS Law, approved by Supreme Decree 001-97-TR, to have freely of 100% of the deposits for Compensation for Time of Service, made in the financial entities that have accumulated as of the date of disposal.

In its final provision, the proposal states that the Executive Branch will dictate the necessary regulatory provisions within a maximum period of ten calendar days from the entry into force of the law.

The commission also approved the opinion issued in projects 7509/2023-CR and 7454/2023-CR, which propose to repeal articles of Emergency Decree 006-2024, regarding collective bargaining.

The proposal repeals articles 17 and 18 of Emergency Decree No. 006-2024, which establishes extraordinary measures in economic and financial matters for fiscal sustainability, budget balance and the efficiency of public spending.

Likewise, it approved the opinion issued in project 2213/2021-CR, which proposes the Labor Law for physical professionals in Peru.

The proposal aims to incorporate the Labor Law of Physical Professionals of Peru into the legal system in order to revalue and strengthen the technological and scientific development of our country.

In addition, it regulates the work of physical professionals duly registered and authorized by the College of Physicists of Peru in order to practice the profession in the public and private sectors.
