VALFURVA (SONDRIO). Due ski mountaineers from the province of Bolzano they crashed at high altitude but fortunately in an area with little snow today before 2pmin the mountains in the municipal area of Valfurva (Sondrio). They reported serious injuries, but they were rescued and taken to hospital. The accident, the dynamics of which have not yet been reconstructed, occurred in over 3 thousand meters below the Casati refuge on the mountaineering group Ortles-Cevedale. Both are in their 40s.
The Alpine Rescue teams of the VII Delegation of Valtellina and Valchiavenna with the soldiers of the Sagf-Alpine Rescue of the Financial Police of Bormio were activated from the Areu operations center. The Elisondrio helicopter contributed to the recovery of the injured person with the less serious injuries, who raised the alarm, to transport him to the Morelli hospital in Sondalo. He suffered back injuries.
The companion was instead transferred from a ‘118’ device in Bolzano to the health center of the South Tyrolean capital: his injuries are more serious and the prognosis is now being defined.
