Insulza acknowledged that his project “will be controversial, but tell me what else do I do? Do I leave them on the street?” With a gun, too, as happened days ago?

Senator José Miguel Insulza (PS) proposed build detention centers to house foreign citizens with pending expulsion orders.

In statements to CNN Chile, the legislator stated that “I don’t see why a person who is expelled from Chile and doesn’t leave after five days, has to be released. I think there should be places where all these people are housed, who are hospitalized there, while they are released.”

Senator Insulza assured that these types of measures will help the Venezuelan government to be more open to receiving its expelled citizens.

“And I assure you that when a group came together, the Venezuelan government would be more willing, more available, to take people back, because there would be family members who would ask for it,” he stated.

In response to the queries, José Miguel Insulza explained that These detention centers would be for foreigners whose expulsion orders have not yet been finalized.

Along with this, he recognized that his project “It will be controversial, but tell me what else do I do? Do I leave them on the street? With a gun, too, as happened days ago?

“What it reveals to me is that after five days they must be released,” Senator Insulza reiterated.
