48 candidates are contesting from 2 panels including 6 independents in this election of 21 member committee. One is the Misha-Dipjol Parishad, the other is the Koli-Nipun Parishad. Among them, once popular hero Mahmud Koli and Dapute Khal-actor Misha Saudagar are fighting for the post of president.
