In the “Best Carpet” category, the prizes were awarded to “Studio Sana Benzaitar represented by Sana Benzaitar” and “Berber living Design” by Chafik Abbou.
Regarding the “Best Flooring” category, Atelier du Zellige represented by Omar Benadiba and Popham Design by Samuel Dowe Sandes won the prize for best flooring.
As for the “Pottery” and “Zellige” categories, the prizes were won respectively by Ahmed Serghini and Said Benadiba.
In the “Entrepreneur” category, the craftsman Mohammed El Haddadi, represented by his daughter, won the prize, while in the “Trainer” category, Latifa Mentbeh and “Hicham Sekkat” won the prize in the field of saddlery.
Speaking on this occasion, the general director of the Maison de l’Artisan, Tarik Sadik, indicated that the prizes awarded to artisans reward their efforts in the development of the craft sector and the creation of employment.
The submitted works were selectively evaluated by a jury of national and international experts, which made it possible to reward several artisans in the different sectors, he added.
The 8th edition of the SNA, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, attracts more than 350 participants from twenty different countries, confirming thus the international appeal for Moroccan craftsmanship.
Placed under the theme “Craftsmanship, a lever of development serving the influence and protection of tangible and intangible heritage”, the SNA offers Moroccan artisans the opportunity to meet professional buyers, specifiers, architects, designers and representatives of major brands and international distribution centers through various events and activities.
