Thiruvananthapuram: Classes one to nine in schools in the state will resume from tomorrow. Classes for classes one to nine will be held on a batch basis from morning till noon. Minister V Sivankutty said that classes 10,11,12 will be conducted in the present manner. Classes will begin in full from the 21st of this month. All children should attend school. From then on there will be classes from morning to evening. The pre-primary classes will be held only till noon, the education minister explained.

Schools will be fully open every Saturday except the public holidays in February and March. All anganwadis, crushes and kindergartens are open on Mondays. Classes for them will be till noon. It will be open from Monday to Friday.

Guidelines

For classes 1 to 9, classes can continue on a batch basis from February 14 from morning to noon.

Classes 10, 11 and 12 can continue until February 19 as they are now.

Classes from February 21st to 1st to 12th should include all children and arrangements should be made to take classes as usual.

From February 21st, school hours will be adjusted from morning to evening according to the standard timetable of the respective schools.

Lessons for Classes 10 and 12 should be completed by February 28 and then revised.

All Saturdays are working days, except public holidays in February and March.

Every Saturday the school level SRG should discuss the completion of the lessons and adopt appropriate measures to ensure the learning achievement of the children.

Every teacher prepares a plan for each subject in connection with the SSLC examination and reports to the concerned District Education Officers through the Headmasters every Saturday on the percentage of lessons completed. The codified report must be submitted by the Deputy Director of Education to the Director of Public Instruction every Monday.

Based on the experience of the SSLC, Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary Model Examinations, learning support activities for students preparing for the General Examination should be formulated and implemented at the respective school levels.

A special action plan for the students who are lagging behind in their studies should be prepared at the respective school level and the students should be prepared for the examination.

Activities that give children confidence and help alleviate stress should be formulated and implemented at the school level.

Children should be given personal support to bridge the learning gap. Particular emphasis should be placed on children with disabilities.

Digital / online classes and support activities will continue as needed. Teachers should adopt a mixed methodology accordingly. SCERT and DIET will provide supplementary support in this regard.

Pre-primary classes will be open from February 14 if the government allows the opening of Kash and Kindergarten.

The pre-primary section can take classes every day from Monday to Friday involving 50% of the students.

The Education Officers should visit the maximum number of schools and report to the Director of Public Instruction at the DDE / RDD / AD level on the need for assessment of lesson exchange and preparation for public examinations.

The SSLC, Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary Model Examinations will begin on March 16, 2022. Detailed timetable will be published.

The date of the annual examination for classes 1 to 9 will be announced later.
