Hoban Group joined hands with Baek Jong-won to promote consumption of Korean agricultural products.

On the 19th, Hoban Group signed a ‘business agreement to promote agricultural product consumption’ with The Born Korea, DaeA Agency, etc. at its headquarters in Garak-dong, Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by key officials including Hoban Group Planning President Kim Dae-heon, The Born Korea CEO Baek Jong-won, and DaeAcheonggwa CEO Lee Sang-yong.

This agreement was promoted to promote consumption of domestic quality agricultural products. In detail, the plan is to encourage consumption of agricultural products through activities such as promoting excellent local agricultural products, holding related events, developing recipes using local agricultural products, and discovering cooperative projects for sustainable ESG (environmental, social, and governance) activities.

Kim Dae-heon, president of Hoban Group’s planning department, said, “We will promote Korea’s excellent agricultural products to consumers across the country and contribute to activities to promote consumption,” and added, “We will continue to seek ways to coexist with local farms.”

Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, said, “We will think deeply about expanding and promoting our agricultural products and strive to be helpful to both farmers and urban consumers by developing recipes and new menus using agricultural products.”

The first activities under the agreement are scheduled to take place on Jeju Island. Hoban Group, The Born Korea, and Daea Fruits and Vegetables will hold the ‘Jeju Agricultural Products Market (tentative name)’ next month. The plan is to actively publicize the excellence of local agricultural products by holding food tasting events using overwintering radishes and cabbage, and by operating experiences such as making pickled vegetables for consumers.

Lee Sang-yong, CEO of Daea Fruits and Vegetables, said, “We hope that this agreement will become a driving force in revitalizing local farms and agricultural product consumption,” and added, “Daea Fruits and Vegetables will plan various events so that more of our agricultural products can be consumed and utilized.” In the case of DaeAcheong, it contributed 100 million won to the Rural Community Coexistence Cooperation Fund last month.

Hoban Group, including Hoban Construction, has steadily contributed to the consumption of Korean agricultural and marine products and revitalization of the local economy through this. Last year, we carried out a challenge to stimulate consumption of seafood and participated in a campaign to encourage fishing village vacations.
