Morocco was represented at this meeting by the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi.
Chaired by the Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, this meeting was an opportunity to review the Coalition’s action strategy and its initiatives to counter terrorism, particularly on the intellectual level, media, military and the fight against the financing of terrorism.
During this meeting, emphasis was also placed on the objectives of these initiatives intended to combat terrorism and eradicate violence and extremism.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Prince Khalid affirmed that the presence of defense ministers from the countries of the Islamic Coalition is a continuation of the first meeting held on the occasion of the announcement of this alliance, during which its frameworks and foundations were established, with the firm commitment to mobilizing efforts for regional and international peace and stability.
“The task is colossal and the expectations are enormous, requiring concerted efforts, complementarity, cooperation and partnership with various countries around the world and international bodies and organizations,” he continued.
The participants in this meeting expressed their determination to coordinate and unite efforts to ward off the specter of terrorism, emphasizing the importance of joint action and global strategic planning to eradicate this scourge.
In addition to three partner countries, the Islamic Military Coalition for the Fight against Terrorism has 42 member states which work collectively to launch initiatives covering its areas of action.
