President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) justified the change in the opinion for the creation Pension fund for him Welfare by saying that it was “a mistake” without any bad intention.

On his own initiative, the head of the federal Executive mentioned the change in the opinion for the reform for the creation of the Pension Fund for Welfare – for which the Chamber of Deputies suspended its session yesterday – and said that:

“The legislators did well yesterday to say there is this error, which has no bad intentions, it was a mistake, let’s better wait because, otherwise they will take advantage of the Judiciary and declare the law unconstitutional, as they have done with several laws.”

In turn, he complained – again – to the Judiciary for its alleged invasion of functions of other powers, this, by saying that they correct the Legislature’s “flat”, since – according to his saying – a couple of ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) have recently dedicated themselves to invading powers of other powers, such as reversing approved laws such as the Electrical Law, or the elimination of Informal Preventive Detention, a discussion contemplated for the following week .

For her part – on the same topic – Luisa María Alcalde, head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob) mocked the Opposition’s criticism of the change in the ruling:

“Just to report, because it became quite a scandal, that yesterday there was an error – let’s say – in a document that was sent by – we understand – the commission to the board of directors, some differences of opinion were published in the official gazette. what had been voted on in the commission and well this of course generated quite a scandal.”

And for this reason, Mayor Luján indicated that this Friday the heads of the agencies involved in said issue will be there to report on said modification which is to “claim the right that all those who have worked throughout their lives have, that this last stage is “They can live with dignity.”

The Plenary Session of the Chamber of Deputies declared a recess to the session in the discussion on the creation of the pension fund for well-being because the opinion presented to the Assembly is different from the one approved by the Social Security Commission.

The PAN coordinator, Jorge Romero, explained that the most important change they found is that they presented the original initiative, which took into account all Afore accounts, and not just the inactive ones, the rest of the changes they identified, he said, “they are harmless.”

During the session, the parliamentary vice coordinator of National Action, Elías Lixa, warned of the discrepancy between the document approved on Monday in committees and the one presented this Thursday to the Plenary.

When in doubt, Morena’s coordinator, Ignacio Mier, asked the board of directors for a recess to prevent the discussion with his opposition colleagues from raising more “heat.”

“It seems very serious to us that an opinion is changed when it is presented to the Plenary, an opinion that is essentially different and that has more than ten changes and one of them substantive,” said deputy Margarita Zavala (PAN).

Lixa commented at a press conference after the recess decree that given the uncertainty about the ruling, he will return to the Social Security Commission and a new session will be held on Monday to discuss the ruling.

He said that there is no apparent attitude of wanting to modify the document, at least intentionally, on the part of the ruling bloc.
