On April 19, the ANMK will open the exhibition “Patterns of Life”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the head of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, People’s Artist Aydin Radzhabov. The event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
As Day.Az reports, at the exhibition of the artist, distinguished by his style and approach to carpet art, up to 40 works will be presented: “Oguz Ongons”, “Oguz Tamgas”, “The Tale of the Goldfish”, “Winged Horse” (Pegasus), “Sacrificial Lamb”, “Agajli”, “Simurg”, “Philosophy of Novruz”, inspired by national traditions, fairy tales, ideas of Turkism, as well as “Azerbaijan”, “Nakhchivan”, “Shirvan”, “Fig Tree”, “Phaeton Driver”, “The Kingdom of Oil”, personifying his boundless love for his homeland, Absheron, with its unique atmosphere, where he was born and raised.
As a successor to the outstanding artist and scientist Latif Kerimov, Aydin Radjabov widely used Turkic-Oghuz ornamental motifs in his works, achieving an ideal combination of tradition and modernity. Some of his subject carpets show the influence of medieval Azerbaijani miniature art. His carpets, distinguished by their ideal composition, original colors, high technical performance and geometric stylization, are kept in many museums and galleries in the country, as well as abroad.
The anniversary exhibition will last until April 30.
