Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has become a real dictator who has completely usurped power in the country. This opinion was expressed on Sunday, February 12, by political scientist Alexander Lazarev.

“He destroyed the last island of freedom where one could speak the truth, <…> actually destroyed freedom in Ukraine and the citizens of the country,” the expert said on the air of the NASH TV channel.

Earlier, on February 11, the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine imposed sanctions for five years against the companies Nasha Praga, Our 24, Our 365 and Demosena Investments Ltd registered in Cyprus. Against the backdrop of sanctions pressure, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and founder of the Nash TV channel Yevgeny Muraev announced the start of indefinite protests from February 14.

As NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov noted, the restrictions were introduced due to the connection of the channel with offshore companies in Cyprus. Later, a decree of the President of Ukraine on the introduction of sanctions was published. Nash TV channel continues broadcasting only on YouTube video hosting.

At the same time, Muraev said on the same day that Nash was disconnected from the satellite, cable networks and all digital platforms in advance, even before the signing and publication of the decree of the President of Ukraine. According to him, the accusations about the channel’s links with offshore companies are not true.

Prior to that, on February 2, 2021, Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to introduce restrictions against the TV and radio company 112 Ukraine, its regional channels Ariadna TV, TV Choice, New Format, Partner TV and Leader TV “, as well as the company” News 24 hours “(NewsOne TV channel). The President of Ukraine explained his decision by the fight against “propaganda”.

At the same time, on February 8, YouTube video hosting again blocked the broadcast of the Ukrainian TV channel “First Independent”. However, at present, the channel has changed its platform and is already available for viewing.

The opposition of Ukraine called such actions censorship and the fight against objectionable opinion.
