Two perpetrators of a theft from a private home in Targovishte have been arrested. The specialized police operation was conducted today on the territory of the Regional Directorate (OD) of the Ministry of the Interior – Targovishte and the Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior in Varna. The actions of the forensic experts were carried out under the coordination of the Main Directorate “National Police”, announced the spokesperson of the Directorate in Targovishte, Ani Krasteva.
After the work of forensic experts of the Directorate in Targovishte, it was established that between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. today, an apartment on a street in Targovishte was entered by unlocking the front door with the help of a technical device. A significant amount of Bulgarian and Turkish currency and a gold hryvnia belonging to a 45-year-old man were stolen from the residence. BGN 6,500, 3,000 Turkish lira and jewelry were stolen, added BTA spokesperson Ani Krasteva.
As a result of the quick coordinated police actions, the perpetrators of the act – two men from Varna, aged 56 and 49, were detected today minutes before 12:00 on the “Hemus” highway, at the entrance to Varna. During a subsequent search of the car in which they were traveling, as well as during the search, the police officers seized a large amount of Bulgarian and Turkish currency, gold ornaments, numerous blanks and keys for unlocking a pit cartridge with foil and other secret locks.
Work on the case continues under the supervision of a prosecutor from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Targovishte. The two were detained for up to 24 hours. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case.
