This Saturday, the Sporting de Braga Stadium was the scene of a moving tribute dedicated to Gustavo Duarte, 23 years old, son of the coach of the Minho main team, Rui Duarte, who passed away suddenly at the beginning of the week.
“No warrior faces his battles alone. Strength, Afonso and mister”, was the message displayed on a banner, in solidarity with Rui Duarte and Afonso Duarte, Gustavo’s brother, who plays in the youth teams of the Braga club.
João Moutinho, elected Man of the Match, also decided to give the award to Rui Duarte at the end of the match. Sporting de Braga won an important victory at home, against Vizela, managing to temporarily isolate themselves in third place.
Sporting de Braga announced, last Sunday afternoon, the death of Gustavo Duarte. The 23-year-old passed away in the early hours of this Sunday, a victim of sudden death, due to a chronic illness.
