The immediate direct payment system (PID) for healthcare professionals, which became available on March 19 for dentists and specialist doctors, is already used by almost a hundred clinicians.
According to the Minister of Health in a parliamentary response to deputy Mars di Bartolomeo, 94 doctors already use the PID system. Of these, 58 are general practitioners, 18 are dentists and 18 are specialist doctors.
The idea, said Martine Deprez, is to speed up the process so that it reaches a greater number of healthcare professionals more quickly, thus benefiting Caisse Nationale de Santé (CNS) users themselves, who are less dependent on the reimbursement system.
“The CNS, the Social Security Informatics Center and the eSanté Agency are committed to accelerating the implementation of the PID, which offers doctors the possibility of receiving directly from the CNS part of the amount covered by health insurance and limits the insured’s payment to your personal contribution”, he stated.

The minister also added that she is in permanent contact with the Association des Médecins et Médecins-Dentistes (AMMD) about the latest developments regarding the process and any problems encountered in its application, as well as which instruments should be created to resolve them.
