Lok Sabha Election 2024: Satyapal Sikarwar, Congress candidate from Morena Lok Sabha seat, alleged that his cousin Narendra Singh Sikarwar and a panch were fatally attacked in Morena district on Saturday. The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm on Saturday in Ruar village of Ambah police station in the district. During the attack, the accused fired three to four rounds. No one was injured in the incident.
Congress candidate Satyapal Singh Sikarwar said that I got information that my younger brother Narendra Singh Sikarwar is campaigning with Panch (Guddu Tomar) in Ruar village. At the same time, Sonu Tomar made a fatal attack on my brother and other members of the Gram Panchayat. They fired several rounds at them. I have spoken to the administration in this regard. I want to appeal that this election should be between two people and it should be held in a peaceful manner. BJP’s defeat is visible, hence it is getting nervous. My family members are campaigning peacefully from door to door. If they are being attacked then I think it is an attack on democracy and it is not good for anyone. Sikarwar said that I appeal to everyone to maintain peace and conduct elections in a peaceful manner.
There is an old enmity between both of them
Morena ASP Arvind Thakur said that the firing incident took place in Ruar village under Ambah police station of the district. Bullets were fired between village Panch Guddu Tomar and Sonu Tomar. There is old enmity between the two. They also had a fight during the Panchayat elections. It is a matter of investigation as to when and why the incident occurred. On the complaint of Guddu Tomar, a case has been registered against four people including Sonu Tomar under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 307 and 34 and the investigation is going on.
