Bulgarian President Rumen Radev announced Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev‘s readiness to replace the head of the Foreign Ministry at the proposal of the technical government. The head of state stated this at a briefing, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“If I had appointed Daniel Mitov, we would have seen a serious conflict of interest. The head of the Foreign Ministry is directly responsible for holding elections abroad, and this is impossible if he holds the post of deputy chairman of the party that is participating in the elections. I explained this to Glavchev, confirming “that if he presents another candidate, I will immediately issue a decree on the appointment. I also advised him to pay attention to other diplomats who are ready to do this work, but in the end he received an avant-garde proposal from the prime minister, he declared his readiness to personally head the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he said. Radev.

The President of Bulgaria clarified that on Monday he will hold another meeting with the Prime Minister of the country and if he insists on his proposal, it will be approved. “I advised him to discuss the situation with close people, with experts, and on Monday morning we will have a final conversation, if he insists, I will accept all his proposals, I do not intend to interfere with his work,” Radev emphasized.
