Türkiye and Egypt are constantly coordinating efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. This was announced by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan following a meeting in Istanbul with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
“We discussed in detail the difficult situation in Gaza and the efforts that can be made to deliver humanitarian aid to the region. We are coordinating with Egypt around the clock on this issue,” Fidan said.
The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry called Western support for Israel one of the main reasons for tension in the Middle East, and a priority for the international community is promoting the resolution of the conflict between Israel and Palestine based on the two-state formula. “Our first priority is to stop Israeli aggression. If this does not happen, conflicts, including those like the Iran-Israeli conflict, may recur. If Palestine does not gain independence, the crises in the region will continue. A solution to the conflict is only possible on the basis of the formula of two independent states. Turkey says about this from the beginning,” Fidan said.
