Daghman’s relatives posted on Twitter Social media On Friday, news of his death occurred after spending more than six months in Internal Security prisons.

This comes while the official security and military authorities in Benghazi have not announced any confirmations regarding his fate until now.

Sources close to the Daghman family said that Siraj was arrested in October last year by the Internal Security Service along with his two companions, Fathi Al-Baja and Tariq Al-Bashari, without specific charges being brought against them.

According to the intervention of former Interior Minister Ashour Shawayel, the reasons for the arrest of Daghman and his two companions go back to a workshop in which the attendees talked about the Derna Dam collapse incident, organized in Benghazi by the Center for Strategic and Future Studies.

A joint statement by several parties had previously called for the immediate release of the three detainees, and the head of the Libya Center for Strategic and Future Studies, Osama Al-Said, addressed the “General Command” in the east of the country, to refute the accusation directed against Al-Baja, Daghman, and Al-Bashari.
