The German hotel chain Kempinski will add another Cuban hotel under its management with the recovery of the Metropolis, located in Old Havana.

Together with the Gaviota Tourism Group, belonging to the Gaesa conglomerate, Kempinski must open the doors of the new facility in the second half of 2024.

According to the Tourinews platform, at the moment many of the details of the future accommodation are unknown, the third of the German company in the Cuban capital and the fourth in Cuba.

The Metrópolis Hotel is located very close to the headquarters of Banco Metropolitano. Specifically, on Aguacate Street on the corner of O’Reilly, Old Havana.

Kempinski currently manages the Gran Hotel Bristol and the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski, these two in the island’s capital.

In addition, it manages the Cayo Guillermo Resort Kempinski Cuba beach hotel, located in Cayo Guillermo, Ciego de Ávila.

In 2019, the hotel chain assured that after the incorporation of the Kempinski Manzana in 2017, it intended to improve its presence on the island and would further expand its presence in the Americas.

The Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski is one of the country’s hotel emblems, located in one of the most central areas of Old Havana. In total it has 246 rooms, of which 172 are standard and 29% are suites and junior suites.

Its location is privileged, as it occupies a building of great heritage value that belonged to the old “Manzana de Gómez” shopping center from the beginning of the 20th century.

Kempinski currently operates almost 80 hotels in 34 countries around the world, all with a five-star category. In addition, its portfolio of offerings includes large historic hotel facilities, urban hotels, resorts and superior residences.
