“There used to be a place for the disabled where I used to park. But then Brno canceled it without compensation. I can’t afford to park one or two kilometers from the house and then walk,” pointed out Koudelka.

Almost two thousand a week in fines

He started parking near the house, standing ten meters in front of the bus stop, still in the parking lane. “I’m not preventing anyone from driving or entering, but I’m partially standing on the sidewalk,” the senior admitted.

Parking takes up approximately 40 centimeters from a four-meter-wide sidewalk. He gets fined for that. “I’m already desperate. I pay up to three 600 crowns a week. It’s liquidating for me. If any place could be found near my apartment, it would mean a huge relief to me,” he explained.

After a warning from the editors of Blesk.cz, he has the town hall in Králov

Fields willing to accommodate. “If he has a permanent residence here and holds a ZTP/P card, he has the opportunity to ask our city district to set up a reserved parking space,” said the spokeswoman for this district, Olga Pelcová.

What is required to be processed?

Completed application form for a reserved parking space for a disabled person, project documentation prepared by an authorized designer (if it is prepared by a designer from Brno Communications, it is free for ZTP/P holders), ZTP/P card and decision on its allocation, civil, driving and technical license, technical license certificate and medical report.

A reserved parking space is always granted for a period of one year, which can be extended annually. Holders of ZTP/P have free drafting of project documentation and are also exempt from administrative and local fees. It only covers a one-time fee for the implementation of traffic signs in the amount of two thousand crowns. There is no longer a charge for extending the time.

Václav Koudelka’s car does not obstruct the exit in any way and reduces the width of the sidewalk by only a few tens of centimeters.
