The men negotiated probations that were approved by the court
In the Plovdiv District Court, 28-year-old Avram Kolev and 23-year-old Bozhidar Genchev, who fired from a moving car in the area of the Trakia highway near Tsalapitsa, were brought under guard. They are accused in a fast-track procedure for hooliganism, and according to the prosecutor’s office, their actions were expressed with extreme audacity.
On April 18, the police received a report of shots fired into the air from the windows of a Mercedes with foreign registration. Uniformed officers were sent to the scene, and the perpetrators were detained in Stamboliyski. Avram Kolev was driving the right-hand drive car. The gas pistol with which the two men fired was also his. The gun was legally owned and was seized along with 23 rounds of ammunition for it.
There were no injuries. Only Kolev and Genchev were in the car, and both of them fired. Up to 5 years in prison are provided for the crime they are accused of. However, they exercised their right to enter into an agreement with the prosecution. This is not their first brush with the law. Both have been criminally convicted, Avram Kolev has been convicted.
The two shooters agreed to probation terms with the state prosecution. The younger – 2 years and the older – 6 months from above. Since he was driving, Kolev parted with his license for a year and a half. They must register at a current address, sign in front of a probation officer twice a week, and meet with a probation officer periodically.
The decision by which the District Court in Plovdiv approved the agreement is final and not subject to appeal or protest. Within 7 days, Avram Kolev and Bozhidar Genchev must also pay the costs of the case in the amount of BGN 148.16 in total.
