Skopje: The head of state led an 11-year-old girl with Down Syndrome to school after she was severely discriminated against at school. The incident took place in the Republic of Northern Macedonia in southeastern Europe. The incident, which calls for the need for care and attention to be given to children who are challenged, has now been taken up on social media.

Embla Ademi, 11, attends a school in the town of Gostivar in northern Macedonia. The embassy was severely discriminated against at school due to his Down Syndrome. It was with this in mind that North Macedonian President Steve Penderovsky came to see the emblem.

He then took the emblem by the hand and carried it to the school. Images, videos and social media of Embla holding Ademi’s hand and taking her to school were captured. Many came to the scene praising the work of the President.

The president’s office said Penderovsky talked to Embla’s parents about things, asked about the challenges she and her family face on a daily basis, and discussed solutions.

Violation of children’s rights is in no way acceptable; Especially with children facing such challenges. There should be equality in school and outside. That is the duty of all of us. Compassion is an important element of a public mission. “It’s very helpful for children like Embla,” a statement from the president’s office said.

Pendrovsky shared a video on Instagram saying that the Embla incident illustrates our prejudices and the need for protection and care for children with disabilities.
