– You won back in the second game of the semi-finals of the Azerbaijani championship. How would you comment on your 3:1 victory over Murov Az Terminal, to whom you lost 1:3 in the first match?
– It was an important game for us. Because if we had won even with a score of 3:2, we would not have been able to realize our dream of the final. However, we approached this game with the desire to win at all costs. They wanted to show their strength. But some fatigue and injuries to the players prevented us from showing our style of play. In any case, after two matches we managed to equalize the score and get our wish in the “golden set”.
– Were you ready for the “lottery”?
– I didn’t expect the “golden set”. At that stage we thought that we would play the game easily. But the match ended with the “Golden Set”. In my opinion, we were able to show ourselves. Because we deserve the final.
– In the final you will have to fight with Azerrail. Do you think it won’t be difficult?
– Of course, Azerrail is very strong. There are professional volleyball players at the European level. The national team players are also present here. For this reason, it is difficult to fight against such an opponent. The final is a game in which both teams will compete for the championship. No matter how strong the opponent is, I believe in my team. We will fight collectively, discover our playing style and become champions.
– But the couple’s favorite is Azerrail. Can you break the predictions?
– We do not support Azerrail at all. If we reached the finals, we are not weak. That’s why I believe in my team. We have several training sessions before the final. By focusing on the game, we will become champions. We will try to change the thinking of those who consider Azerrail to be the favorite.
– But let’s agree that winning gold medals will not be easy…
– Of course, it will be difficult. It’s the end of the season. Everyone experiences psychological and spiritual fatigue. But we will go into this game and fight as hard as we can. We will show everyone how strong Absheron is.
– Do you think you can defeat your opponent?
– If the team is completely focused on the game and fights for every ball, we will, of course, win. We have a lot of hope. We really want to become champions. Winning the cup is our main goal.
