/ A website specialized in tracking piracy and digital intrusions revealed that the data of more than 85 million Egyptian users was stolen via the Internet.
The Dark Entry website stated, “Information was published on one of the hacker leak sites claiming the existence of a database containing 85 million records of Egyptian citizens.”
The website indicated through its account on the “X” website (formerly Twitter) that “as described by the person who published the data, the data was collected from websites related to health insurance and the Egyptian Ministry of Interior.”
He said, “The data is sold for $3,000, which is a very small number compared to the importance of the data, and it is one of the reasons that makes us doubt the authenticity of the data in the first place and that it is not generated data or created through an AI tool.”
On the other hand, the website said, “Today, sensitive information related to tens of thousands of Egyptian users of LC Wakiki was published on one of the leak sites.”
He explained that the data “contained valuable information about customers, such as: full names, emails, and phone numbers,” pointing out that “the stolen data belonged to 60,000 LC WAKIKI customers.”
