(ANSA) – MASSA (MASSA CARRARA), APRIL 22 – Day of celebration at the Ospedale del Cuore in Massa (Massa Carrara) to present Aisha, a puppet representing a little blue monkey who will from now on be the mascot of the little patients. The initiative was carried out via video connection with the actress, screenwriter and director Paola Cortellesi who “embraced” the children present, the young patients and the entire Monasterio with a video.
Paola Cortellesi donated her voice by reading Aisha’s stories and singing her songs. The project counts on the collaboration of Frank Espinosa, an American animator and cartoonist who worked for a long time for Walt Disney and was Art Director of Warner Bros. The musician Enrico Andreini composed the music for Aisha’s songs.
The writer Sandra von Borries with the general director of Monasterio Marco Torre, presented the mascot and its story. “It is difficult – she says – to explain the hospital, the illness and the operation to a 3-year-old girl, if not through a good dose of imagination. This is why I wrote Aisha’s adventurous stories: to help my daughter and, with her, the children and girls hospitalized and their families. But also to say thank you to all the staff of the Ospedale del Cuore for their extraordinary work and great human commitment”.
“Today is truly a day of celebration for us, we are happy – states DG Torre – to share it with many people and many children. I thank Sandra infinitely for giving us splendid stories and a fantastic mascot and I thank Paola Cortellesi for the video she gave us dedicated, his commitment to supporting Aisha’s project and his words of friendship are a great source of pride for us. Thank you and thank you again. The humanization of care is a constant commitment of Aisha for our little patients a special friend.” At the end of the event, a large sculpture of Aisha was inaugurated in the garden in front of the hospital by the pupils of the first classes of the Cervara di Massa school.
