Comedian Lee Eun-hyung, who was 21 weeks pregnant, cried when she heard that her uterine fibroids had quadrupled in size in just one month.
In SBS’ ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2, You Are My Destiny’, which aired on the 22nd, the ’12 comedian couple’ Kang Jae-jun and Lee Eun-hyung visited an obstetrician and gynecologist.
On this day, the couple could not hide their excitement at the thought of seeing ‘Kkangchong’ (Taemyeong) through their first stereoscopic ultrasound. Lee Eun-hyung burst into tears upon hearing the sound of Kkangchong’s heartbeat and the doctor’s words, “Everything is fine.”
In an interview with the production crew, Lee Eun-hyung said, “I couldn’t say it, but since I was a senior, the teacher kept telling me, ‘It’s okay,’ so I felt reassured. “I felt a sense of stability and the tension eased,” he said. The couple, who couldn’t see Kkangchong because he covered his face with his hands, expressed their disappointment.
The specialist told the couple that Kkangchong was growing well and well, and that no further tests were needed for the time being. However, he soon asked Lee Eun-hyung, “Doesn’t your stomach hurt?”
When Lee Eun-hyung responded, “My stomach has been pulling a lot since a week ago,” the specialist said, “It’s hard to tell whether it’s because of the fibroids or because the uterus is growing.”
It turned out that Eunhyeong Lee had a fibroid in her uterus that was larger than the baby’s house when she was 7 weeks pregnant. The fibroid, which was 2.5 to 3 cm before pregnancy, has now grown to 11 cm.
Eunhyeong Lee said, “I asked to watch for a small fibroid, and a month later, I became pregnant naturally. “I couldn’t do anything about the fibroids, and when I first went for an ultrasound after becoming pregnant, they were almost 9 to 10 cm,” she said, confiding that the fibroids had grown about four times in one month.
He continued, “I heard that when you become pregnant, the uterus gets bigger due to hormones, but the fibroids also get bigger. “I was really worried from then on,” he said. “Many people say they give birth with uterine fibroids, but when it came to my situation, it felt even more serious.” I wonder why I didn’t take care of it sooner. “As the fibroids grew, my guilt also grew,” he said.
When Lee Eun-hyeong cried, worried that it would affect her child, the specialist said, “Thanks to the fibroids, the cervix has been pushed closed tightly and remains quite long. “It’s not necessarily a bad thing at the moment,” he comforted.
