The General Directorate of Energy Police announced today, Tuesday, a decrease in oil smuggling operations, and while revealing statistics since the beginning of this year for seizure operations, it confirmed that no violations against oil pipelines were recorded during the current year.
The Director General of the Energy Police Directorate, Major General Dhafer Al-Husseini, told the (INA): “The Directorate was able, during the period from 1-1-2024 to 4-23-2024, to seize 226 wheels and 23 wheels, and 226 accused of smuggling and stealing oil.” “.
He added, “Legal measures have been taken against all the accused and they have been referred to the judiciary.”
He pointed out that “the quantities of fuel confiscated during the aforementioned period amounted to 5 million liters,” explaining that “the directorate reduced smuggling operations by 98 percent, while we did not record any violations or thefts targeting oil pipelines at all.”
