Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty Morocco is ''unique'' (Stéphane Séjourné)”>King Mohammed VI, this conference comes in the wake of the Sovereign’s call to enshrine the values of good governance, transparency and accountability, and to strengthen the foundations of governance in adopting the principle of correlation between responsibility and accountability, indicates a press release from the Court of Auditors.

The high solicitude with which His Majesty the King surrounds this conference reflects the Sovereign’s desire to open the Kingdom to international experiences, to consolidate its achievements and to present its experience in this area, notes the press release.

This meeting aims to deepen the debate on the means of strengthening control in the face of the challenges that SAIs face, mainly those linked to the evolution of the institutional environments of these institutions and the profound changes that public management is experiencing, in addition to the need to comply with the requirements of accountability and fair disciplinary proceedings, specifies the same source, adding that it is also a question of examining the question of the responsibility of public managers, in a direct manner, for the SAIs endowed with jurisdictional powers, and indirectly, through other bodies for SAIs with non-jurisdictional functions.

This conference, which will see the participation of several heads of control institutions under the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, in the presence of ministerial officials and representatives of Moroccan constitutional institutions and civil society, will be punctuated by several interventions in three panels.

These panels will focus respectively on “the accountability of public managers before the SAIs, foundations and principles”, “the accountability of public managers before the SAIs in the face of the imperative of efficiency and impact” and “the future of accountability public managers before the SAIs”.
