Fresnillo, Zacatecas, (95.4 percent); Naucalpan de Juárez, State of Mexico (89.6 percent); Zacatecas (89.3 percent); Chilpancingo de los Bravo, Guerrero, (87.3 percent); Cuernavaca, Morelos, (87.0 percent), are among the cities where the greatest insecurity was perceived in March, according to the monthly survey by Inegi, ENSU.
During the past month, 61 percent of the population aged 18 and over, residing in 90 cities of interest, considered it dangerous to live in their locality.
The above represents a statistically significant change in relation to the percentages in December 2023 and March of the same year (59.1 and 62.1 percent, respectively).
In the third month of 2024, 66.5 percent of women and 54.5 percent of men considered it unsafe to live in their urban center.
While the metropolises where the perception of least unrest were: Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo (11.1 percent); Piedras Negras, Coahuila, (19 percent); Cuajimalpa de Morelos, Mexico City (22.5 percent); Mérida, Yucatán (23.2 percent); Tampico, Tamaulipas (23.6 percent), and Los Cabos, Baja California Sur (24.8 percent).
The perception of insecurity in physical spaces, in March 2024, 69.4 percent feel uneasy at ATMs.
