By defining himself as a “PAN member of another generation”, the candidate of the PAN, PRI and PRD for the head of Government, Santiago Taboada celebrated the signing of commitments for sexual diversity.
In a meeting with members of the LGBT+ community at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, the standard bearer of the ‘Va x la CDMX’ coalition pledged to combat hate speech against the community.
“I am from another generation. We are going to combat those hate speeches, those hate crimes, wherever they come from,” she said.
In this regard, Santiago Taboada admitted skepticism towards his LGBT agenda, due to his militancy.
“There is probably some questioning of the agenda, due to the militancy that I have; But I tell you, I am a PAN member from another generation. In all political groups there are those of us who can think differently,” he assured.
As part of his agenda, Santiago Taboada committed to addressing the physical and mental health of the community.
“When we talk about health we cannot forget the LGBT population (…) I am not only talking about people who require care or medications to combat HIV, I am also talking about mental health, for example of the trans population. We also have to talk about the life expectancy they have today,” she mentioned.
