Muzaffarpur: Prashant Kishore, the founder of Jan Suraj, took a dig at the education system of Bihar and said that Rs 40 thousand crores are being spent on education every year in Bihar. Due to this, even 40 children are not able to study well. There were such schools in the villages and blocks of Bihar, from where people used to come out after studying and reached great heights. In Bihar itself, there were more than ten such institutions including Netarhat, Langat Singh College, Patna Science College, Patna College. Apart from these, there were one or two such schools in every block, from where people could study and make their living.

Even 40 children are not able to study well: Prashant Kishore

PK said, ‘What I told you was that in order to make an equitable education policy, you opened schools everywhere. You did not pay attention to its quality, its facilities, the education provided there. If this has to be improved, then instead of building schools in every village, we will have to make arrangements to send children to school. According to the vision of Jan Suraj, which we have studied, currently we are spending Rs 40 thousand crores on education every year. Due to this, even 40 children are not able to study well. It would be better if one-third of the budget that we have envisioned, i.e. Rs 15,000 crore, is spent on creating a new Netarhat level education system in every block of Bihar. He said that if one school is built in every block every year, then five good schools will be built every year and if the facility of bus or car is provided then children will also reach there. By doing this we will be able to create a new education system.

PK also targets KK Pathak

During this, Prashant Kishore also targeted KK Pathak without taking his name. Prashant Kishore said that at present the officials are making all the teachers sit in the school. Even if the teacher sits in the school, how will you force him to teach? There is no provision for accommodation for the teacher in the village, if his own children fall ill, there is no provision for treatment, then how will he stay there?

You are only distributing khichdi and indulging in theft: PK

Prashant Kishore said that in both education and health sectors, it would be better if you open only two schools or hospitals, but run them well. Create at least 3 to 5 world class institutions in every block in the field of education and health. Instead of this, you have made a 25, 30, 40 system, where you are only distributing khichdi and making people steal. We are spending this money, it is not that Bihar government is not spending this money. The education budget in Bihar is Rs 40 thousand crores and you see the condition of the schools, what is happening. (Report K. Raghunath)
