Appointed through an order of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization published on April 9, the team of the special delegation of the urban commune of Kankan took office this Saturday, April 20, 2024.
It was the prefect of Kankan, Kandja Mara, who installed them this morning at the town hall. Aware of the scale, complexity and heaviness of the responsibilities incumbent on him and his men, the president of the special delegation, Araphan Moussa Koulibaly, showed himself determined to work in a team spirit to better assume the trust placed in him by the Head of State, Lieutenant General Mamadi Doumbouya:
“It is with real pleasure that I will have to serve this magnificent town, which is also one of the most attractive in our country, on a social, cultural and tourist level, hence the origin of the word ”NABAYA”.
I reassure you of my determination to act to preserve and strengthen this attractiveness, by guaranteeing all fellow citizens the security and protection to which they are entitled. »
Numbering eleven (11) including two (2) women, the new municipal team will have its work cut out for it because the challenges are enormous, including, among other things, the explosive insecurity that the population has been facing for several weeks. But already, Araphan Moussa Koulibaly has a guideline:
» Aware of the major challenges facing this municipality, my team and I have priority actions: the fight against unsanitary conditions through series of city sanitation; the organization of urban transport;
The preservation and consolidation of peace; the fight against growing insecurity; improving the living environment of the population on a socio-cultural and economic level; perseverance in safeguarding the environment. »
For the success of the various missions it has assigned itself, the special delegation requests the continued support and cooperation of each and everyone.

The destiny of the urban commune of Kankan is now in the hands of Araphan Moussa Koulibaly and his team. They replace Mory Kolofon Diakité and his advisors whose mandate has expired, moreover the latter were conspicuous by their absence at the installation ceremony.
It should still be noted that one of the members of the special delegation in the person of Youssouf Kaba “Kassouf” resigned. For now the reasons for his resignation remain a mystery.
