Fotis Zisimopoulos was the big winner at the 18th Alexander the Great International Marathon, finishing in 2 hours, 23 minutes and 40 seconds.
The runners finish in the Marathon which started from Pella at 07:45, in one institution – celebration that changed the road movement in Northern Greece, becoming a point of reference, with a rich social offering, historical weight and a strong role in the economic and tourist promotion of Thessaloniki and Macedonia from 2006 until today.
According to the unofficial results, Fotis Zisimopoulos was followed in second and third place by Giorgos Kalopidis and Beis Kyriakos with times of 02:25:49 and 02:31:22 respectively.
Among the women, Stamatia Noula finished first with a time of 02:45:02. Second was Denise Dimaki with 02:48:15 and third was Vasileva Desislava with 03:05:40. The approximately 1,700 runners participating in the Marathon continue to this hour approaching the finish line.

The 18th ALEXANDER THE GREAT International Marathon – bwin still includes him Health Road 10,000m. (start time 08:30, starting point: Municipal Stadium of Ampelokipi) and Health Road 5,000m. (start time: 12:30, starting point: Thessaloniki City Hall).
Common finish point, for all the roads of the competition program, will be at the height of the square of the statue of Alexander the Great, on the beach of Thessaloniki.
On the 10,000 m road, the winner was Giorgos Iatrodellis among the men and Maria Papanastasiou among the women.
