The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) reported on the update of the Transfermóvil application that brings an expansion of its functionalities.

According to the state-run Cuban News Agency, this new version presents two added features “to improve the experience of its users.”

The changes in Transfermóvil have to do with the MiTransfer Exchange, users’ virtual wallet linked to their bank accounts.

Through a text, published on its social networks, ETECSA reported that the first novelty is that through the new version it is possible to request the sending by email of the status of the virtual accounts of the MiTransfer Stock Exchange, corresponding to the last six months.

The second change will directly affect telecommunications agents, for whom an exclusive module was created within Bolsa MiTransfer in the app.

With this novelty, people who are dedicated to marketing the services of the state telephone company in the neighborhoods will not have to take the money from sales to the ETECSA Commercial Units, but will be able to carry out this transaction from the platform.

Telecommunications agents who use Transfermóvil can manage with their CUP account services such as telephone bill payment, mobile balance recharge, Nauta account through coupon, Nauta permanent account and Nauta Hogar, and Own Cards.

This new version of the app is now available for download on the ETECSA website and in the Apklis application store.

The company clarified that to use it you need a mobile phone with Android operating system, version 4.4 or higher and a parent card belonging to the Metropolitano (BANMET), Crédito y Comercio (BANDEC) or Popular Ahorro (BPA) banks.

According to data provided by the island’s authorities, more than four million Cubans currently use Transfermóvil, although only 140,000 have virtual wallets enabled.

With the latter, users can pay for different telecommunications services, such as telephone bills, purchase of voice and data packages, and international recharges. In addition, purchases can be made in physical stores through a QR code enabled for this payment.
