The president of the Bulgarian Football Union Georgi Ivanov held his first meeting at the highest level in this capacity.
The former striker was on an official visit to Nyon, where he met UEFA president Aleksandar Ceferin.
Part of the native delegation were also the first vice president of the BFS Atanas Furnadjiev, the executive director Borislav Popov, as well as the director of the International Department Iveta Bankova-Stoyanova.
On behalf of the European football headquarters, Zoran Lakovic, director of the “National Associations” unit at UEFA, took part in the event.
“The meeting was extremely fruitful, as Alexander Ceferin personally congratulated Georgi Ivanov on his election victory and expressed his full support for the new president of the BFS.
Zoran Lakovic, for his part, issued an official invitation to Georgi Ivanov to be a guest at the next regional gathering of European football federations, which will be held later this year in Cyprus.
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Ceferin wished success to the Bulgarian delegation and expressed his confidence that the full-fledged partnership between UEFA and the Bulgarian Football Union will continue in the future,” the BFS wrote on its website.
