One of the most unexpected victories of recent years

Even if his image did not resemble an athlete, Ryan Garcia denied everyone and from the absolute outsider was crowned the winner in Brooklyn against Devin Haney.

King got off to a great start by knocking Haney to the canvas in the first round. Haney came back and in the next few rounds controlled the match until the seventh when Garcia dropped him again.

From that point on Haney was unable to recover and found himself on the canvas during the tenth and eleventh rounds.

The victory went to Garcia by majority decision, but he was not awarded the title as he did not make weight. The WBC belt is now orphaned by a champion.
