Held on the sidelines of the 16th International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), this meeting was an opportunity for both parties to examine the different aspects of bilateral cooperation, as well as common challenges in the areas of agriculture, innovation, research and technology.
In a press statement following this meeting, Ms. Kovářová, accompanied by a large parliamentary delegation, stressed that Morocco and the Czech Republic face several common challenges, such as drought and climate change.
“Several potential areas of cooperation exist between our two countries, including research, innovation, higher education and training,” she noted.
For his part, Mr. Sadiki highlighted the Czech Republic’s significant advances in advanced technologies and research and innovation programs in the agricultural field, as well as its cereal production.
The minister also noted that Morocco and the Czech Republic “complement each other perfectly” in areas of agricultural cooperation.
Organized under the theme “Climate and agriculture: For sustainable and resilient production systems”, the 16th edition of SIAM, which continues until April 28, sees the participation of nearly 70 countries and 1,500 exhibitors.
More than 950,000 visitors are expected at this high mass of Moroccan and international agriculture which offers a rich program of 40 conferences and round tables on crucial current themes.
