Mr. Sanchez’s visit to Morocco gives new impetus to the implementation of the bilateral road map (jurist)

Rabat – The working visit to Morocco by the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, will provide a strong impetus to bilateral relations and move forward in the implementation of the road map adopted in April 2022, said the professor of international relations at Mohammed V University in Rabat, Zakaria Aboudahab.

This visit by Mr. Sanchez, the first since his inauguration, reaffirms Spain’s position of support in favor of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, which has been recorded and renewed, underlined this expert in international law in a statement to the MAP, adding that this is also a sign of continuity of the projects thus opened since 2022 between the two countries.

Mr. Aboudahab noted that Spain is pleading for a consolidated partnership with Morocco, including within the European Union.

For this expert evaluator at the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research, it is important today to draw up a schedule for carrying out the projects agreed between the two States, an approach which will probably require setting up permanent management structures.

The President of the Spanish Government made a working visit to Morocco on Wednesday, marked by the audience granted to him by HM King Mohammed VI.

The royal audience granted to Mr. Sanchez was an opportunity to reiterate Spain’s position, contained in the Joint Declaration of April 2022, considering the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative as “the most serious, realistic basis and credible” for the settlement of the conflict around the Moroccan Sahara.
