(24 News) The members of the Punjab Assembly made it a routine not to come to the meeting called at the cost of crores of rupees. The meeting to be held on Thursday started with a delay of three hours, but it was adjourned after five minutes as the quorum was not reached.

The MLAs in the Punjab Assembly for the past several days have added to their habit of delaying completely ignoring the decorum and dignity of the House. Yesterday’s Rosaposition leaders Ahmed Bhachar, Rana Aftab and others alleged in the by-elections to be held on April 21. The issue of rigging was raised, this issue was supposed to be discussed today, but the meeting was postponed due to non-fulfilment of the quorum. The staff of the assembly kept ringing the bells for three hours, but they did not ring the ears of the members.

When the session started, the opposition members got angry at the intervention of the treasury members and pointed out that at any given time there were not at least 94 MPs present in the House, the proceedings were adjourned for five minutes. The Speaker adjourned the House. When the required number could not be ensured, the interval was extended by half an hour and later the proceedings were adjourned till Tuesday morning, however, later Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan changed the time to 3 pm. However, the story was the same that day.

The same story was repeated on Thursday. It took 3 hours to start the meeting. The opposition once again pointed out the lack of quorum and Deputy Speaker Zaheer Iqbal Chanter adjourned the proceedings of the House for 30 minutes. If the quorum could not be met, the Deputy Speaker adjourned the meeting.
