As part of the festival’s cultural programs, the spectacle of traditional costumes from 25 countries, including Morocco, was striking.

The Kingdom takes part in this cultural program by displaying the Moroccan caftan, one of the oldest traditional costumes, which dates back to the 12th century. The exhibitions located in the archaeological villages also allow you to learn about the cultures of the people through their own clothes.

Through this international arts event, the Saudi Arabia Theater and Performing Arts Authority aims to introduce the local community and tourists to the heritage of mountain performing arts locally and internationally, and to elevate the level of awareness regarding the theater and performing arts sector, one of the vital cultural sectors.

This unique festival reflects the Authority’s desire to promote international cultural exchanges as one of the objectives of the National Culture Strategy, which is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The Moroccan troupe “Abidat Rma”, which also participated in this festival, delighted the public on Wednesday with various artistic performances reflecting the artistic and cultural diversity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The group “Abidat Rma” performed impressive popular dances inspired by the Moroccan musical heritage that the group seeks to preserve and ensure continuity for future generations, while keeping its current beauty marked by decorated traditional outfits and a local poetry rooted in the history of authentic Moroccan heritage.

The Abidat Rma group also captivated the audience of the festival, which celebrates mountain performing arts, with an authentic Berber-Moroccan performance, performing the famous “Ahidous” dance.

Impressed, the audience at the festival in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia discovered a radiant side of Moroccan art deeply rooted in history and rich in poems, melodies and songs expressing the joys of mountain people during festivals and weddings, in addition to harvest seasons.

The third “Qimam” International Mountain Arts Festival kicked off with a carnival in Khamis Mushait attended by 45 local and international mountain arts groups, in addition to other activities in eight locations across the region of Asir, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
