In a statement to the press on the occasion of a field visit to Ifrane and Sefrou to learn about the progress of projects included within the framework of the “Green Generation” strategy, launched by HM the King Mohammed VI in 2020, the minister recalled that the regional program of this strategy will have to mobilize a total budget of 34 billion dirhams (billion dirhams), including a contribution of 12 billion dirhams from the State.
The minister, who was accompanied in particular by the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, the Governor of the province of Ifrane and the Governor of the Province of Sefrou, professionals and elected officials, underlined that this visit made it possible to launch several projects important development of local and agricultural products which have a significant impact on the income of farmers and beneficiaries.
Thus, in Ain Leuh (province of Ifrane), the minister handed over to the beneficiary cooperatives a unit for the valorization of aromatic and medicinal plants and a unit for the valorization of cherries, which are part of a valorization complex agricultural products.
With an investment of approximately 2.2 million dirhams (MDH), the aromatic and medicinal plants development unit is part of the agricultural production sector development program. With a total cost of around 3.2 million dirhams, the cherry valorization unit is part of an aggregation project which initially concerns 15 aggregates covering an area of 30 ha.
The complex also houses the headquarters of a women’s cherry jam production cooperative.
On this occasion, Mr. Sadiki presented aggregation certificates to the beneficiaries and health safety certificates to four cooperatives working in the field of the valorization of cherries and aromatic and medicinal plants.
Furthermore, as part of the rangeland development program, the minister distributed 30 towed water tanks for the benefit of breeder groups for watering livestock.
He also took note of the progress of the actions planned as part of the Oued Ifrane solidarity project. With a total cost of more than 28 million dirhams, this project benefits 833 farmers. Its objective is the development of land and the rationalization of the use of irrigation water, the improvement of farmers’ income, the creation of jobs and the economic revitalization of the Province.
On this occasion, Mr. Sadiki chaired the distribution ceremony of hives for the benefit of three beekeeping cooperatives, the distribution of agricultural equipment for the benefit of young people from two service cooperatives and the distribution of two units of hydroponic barley for breeding. .
In Sefrou, at the level of the commune of Ait Sbaâ, the minister took note of the progress of the implementation of the Sefrou Regional Agricultural Plan which is part of the implementation of the Generation Green strategy.
Mr. Sadiki visited a newly built apple refrigeration unit at the Cercle Imouzzer Kandar. Costing 13.9 MDH, the unit has a capacity of 1,500 T and benefits 33 farmers, 45% of whom are young people.
In the commune of Azzaba, the minister took note of the project for the rehabilitation of the Small and Medium Hydraulic (PMH) perimeters and kicked off the start of a phase of rehabilitation of the seguias as part of the program of support for the inclusive and sustainable development of agricultural and rural areas.
With an investment of 16 million dirhams, the total length of lines to be developed for the period 2024-2027 is 30 km on an area covered by the project of approximately 2,500 hectares for the benefit of approximately 3,000 farmers.
